Scofield’s late husband, Jim Scheiner, was also a trustee of the Board from 1985-1993 and served as treasurer from 1987-1991. Scofield is currently one of four external directors of the Harrisburg Academy Foundation and a founding member of the Academy’s leadership giving society, The John Harris Circle. She also volunteers with the United Way of Central Pennsylvania.During her time as an Academy parent, Scofield served as president of the Parents Association (PA) and volunteered for many PA events, including the annual Scholastic Book Fair and class parties. She also attended many games, as Zach and Meredith were involved in a variety of sports as students, including tennis, soccer, and field hockey.Scofield’s resume includes service to many other local boards, including 15 years for Open Stage of Harrisburg and six years for Theatre Harrisburg. She worked in the Exhibition Management Division at the State Museum in Harrisburg for 12 years, until her retirement in 2013. From 1980-1984, she served as co-director for Women in the Arts, Harrisburg, which was founded by fellow Academy parent-at-the-time, Susan Kogan-Cohen. The event was a month-long celebration of women in the arts, including film, music, painting, and photography, hosted at the State Museum.
